Gardenia jasminoides 'August Beauty'

A rounded evergreen shrub, growing to 5 ft tall by 3 ft wide.  Prefers full sun in cooler areas and filtered shade in hot areas.  Requires rich, moist, acidic soil high in organic matter.  Needs careful handling of roots during transplanting and does not compete well with other tree roots. Fragrant flowers bloom heavily in May and June followed by a second flowering in the late summer and early fall.  Blooms can be up to 3 inches wide. Great as a container, as a focal plant, natural hedge, or screen.
