Yellow Jacobinia

Justicia aurea

From Mexico, this broadleaf shrub grows 5-8 ft tall and 4-8 ft wide. It will bloom yellow spikes throughout the year. This plant prefers partial shade or protection from hot afternoon sun, and will become bushier in full sun. A great container plant and houseplant, Yellow Jacobinia is also wonderful in mixed plantings, in shade gardens, as background plant, or accent shrub.  Once established, Yellow Jacobinia exhibits moderate drought tolerance. Typically available in 1 and 3 gallon pots.
